Newspaper The student newspaper, The Voice of the Gryphon, is published quarterly, and informs the student body by giving coverage of news around New Covenant Schools. This elective course meets once per week after school; however, the gathering and publishing of news is such that students are expected to cover extracurricular events and spend time after school conducting interviews, typing and formatting articles, and copying the paper. As a result students get hands-on experience in producing a newspaper. Instruction is given in newspaper basics such as writing leads, headlines, and captions, proofreading, setting up a dummy, scanning and cropping photographs and clipart. Particular attention is given to using the computer to format the paper for publication. [Two semesters. Two quality points. Text—Nanci A. Student Senate The Student Senate is elected from the student body and consists of students from the seventh through the twelfth grades. Senators take an active role in the formation of recommendations to the Administration, the management and implementation of the Honor Code, and the oversight of student social functions. They meet once each week, and their meetings are conducted according to Robert's Rules of Order.

Yearbook The annual yearbook, The Gryphon, is published each year by a select group of students in their sophomore, junior, or senior years. Students use state-of-the-art technology for layout and design, and are responsible for photography and editing as well as advertising sales, which offset the cost of the book.
