Drama begins in 6th grade with the annual production of A Christmas Carol, and continues in the Upper School .

In the spring of each year New Covenant produces a major dramatic production, staged in the Moomaw Gymnasium. Thespians in 7th through 12th grades are eligible to try out for parts.

In addition to art and music, all students take drama for one semester during the junior or senior year in partial fulfillment of the fine arts requirement for graduation.
In drama class students learn the basics of set design, makeup, and, of course, acting.

Moreover, students in drama have a direct role in producing New Covenant's annual Recitatio, a dramatic presentation that presents the life at New Covenant, designed to acquaint prospective parents with classical, Christian education.
