New Covenant encourages, but does not require, Virginia certification; however, all candidates for full faculty positions must hold at least the B.A. or B.S. degree. Faculty candidates with experience in classical education are preferred.

Open Positions

School of Dialectic (MS 5-8)

Math/Science Instructor (2)

New Covenant Schools is seeking two qualified candidates for full faculty positions in math and science in middle school.  A successful candidate should have experience teaching students in the middle years, exhibiting high relational and organization skills, with the demonstrated ability to shape study habits in students in these grades.  Faculty members must embrace a Christian world view that informs their approach to science and math, and to education in general.  Candidates must also be enthusiastic about the opportunity to work with middle school students.

The math curriculum utilized in the middle school is Saxon Math and the science texts are eclectic.  Duties of each of these positions will include the following:  teaching 5th and 6th graders general and life science; teaching earth science to 7th  and 8th  graders; creating and implementing lesson plans using a variety of text and other resources; evaluating students’ writing about science;  designing and implementing high-interest exploratory classes in science and math; providing support to low-achieving students both during and after school hours; collaborating with other faculty members who teach the same students; communicating clearly and collaboratively  with parents for student success.

School of Rhetoric (HS 9-12)

Literature/Rhetoric Instructor

New Covenant Schools is seeking a qualified candidate for a full faculty position in Literature and Rhetoric. A successful candidate will hold at least a B.A. in literature, the classics, or other relevant discipline. Experience in teaching writing will be an important component of a successful candidate. Classical Languages Instructor
