New Covenant Schools has attracted a dedicated faculty of qualified professionals who hold at least the B.A. degree or have special training in their fields. Many have taken selective graduate training or obtained higher degrees.
Our emphasis is upon competency and a dedication to lifelong learning within the classical and Christian tradition; therefore, New Covenant commits significant funds each year to continuous education. Faculty development also includes a voluntary mentoring program in which new faculty members are paired with more experienced teachers. In this program they are coached in various aspects of teaching, lesson preparation, classical curriculum, classroom management, etc. Administrators at New Covenant maintain direct involvement in the classroom, teaching classes, as well as involvement with faculty mentoring and curriculum development. New Covenant instructors participate in a dynamic Faculty Forum that meets regularly for lectures by members of the faculty, guest speakers, films, or for discussion of issues relevant to specific disciplines.
