New Covenant offers a foreign study progam for students in grades 10-12. Students studying abroad can choose between two courses currently offered on alternating years. Students meet for at least ten class meetings to prepare for them for travel, and spend seven to ten days in London or Rome. The course is concluded with research paper relevant to a location or topic, and a half credit is earned.
Neither course is covered in standard tuition, and students often hold fundraisers to pay their way. The cost averages $1800-$2100.
Cultures of Rome
This course spans seven to ten days in Rome and its environs. Students take their studies on location to the Coliseum, St. Peter’s Basillica, the Mamertine Prison, and many more places.
America’s British Culture
This course spans seven to ten days in London and its environs. Students take their studies on location to the British Museum, Westminster Abbey, Parliament, and other locations. A day or two is planned for visiting Oxford.
